Main policies

Use in indoor public places, workplaces, and public transport

Some Restrictions
Analysis

The law defines “tobacco product” to include “electronic tobacco heating devices” and defines “smoking” to include “inhaling” a tobacco product. Because tobacco inserts are tobacco products and the act of HTP use includes inhaling, existing restrictions on smoking tobacco products are interpreted to apply to HTPs. The law bans smoking in indoor workplaces, indoor public places, and public transport. The only exception to the ban is airports, which are permitted to have designated smoking areas within the transit and departure lounges. Because of this exception, the regulatory status code “Some Restrictions” is given.
