Analysis Law No. 584 of November 11, 1975 establishes the police as the agency responsible for enforcement of smoke free regulations. Although the law specifies a process for business owners to report violations, the law does not impose a duty to enforce upon the enforcement agency. To align with FCTC Art. 8 and the FCTC Art. 8 Guidelines, the law should impose a duty to enforce upon the authorized enforcement agency and should specify a system for monitoring compliance.
