Analysis

Submission of information is a requirement for registration and re-registration of a tobacco product in Ghana. Manufacture, import, or sale of unregistered tobacco products is punishable by a fine of up to 750 penalty units, imprisonment for up to three years, or both. Continuing offenses are punishable with an additional fine of ten penalty units for each day during which the offense continues.

The law aligns with FCTC Art. 10 and the FCTC Arts. 9 & 10 Partial Guidelines in that the law imposes sanctions for disclosure violations.
