Law No. 9636 on Health Protection from Tobacco Products (as amended) is the primary piece of tobacco control legislation. It governs smoke free places; tobacco advertising, promotion and sponsorship; tobacco packaging and labeling; tobacco sales restrictions; tobacco product contents, and disclosure requirements for novel tobacco products, including HTPs and e-cigarettes.

Decision No. 7 on Approval of Warning Images about the Destructive Effects of Tobacco, and Specifications of Their Placement on the Package
Decision No. 7 sets out health warning contents, size and placement for various types of tobacco products.
Decision No. 8 on Certain Amendments to the Decision of the Intersectoral Committee for Health Protection from Tobacco Products No. 7 Dated 19 Feb. 2020 “On the Approval of Certain Additions and Amendments to Warning Images about the Destructive Effects of Tobacco, and Specifications of Their Placement on the Package”
Decision No. 8 amends Decision No. 7. It clarifies the number and placement of the general and information messages on the side panel of certain tobacco products, requires rotation of combined (picture / text) warnings, provides for the size and placement of health warnings on cigars and cigarillos, and repeals four of the 15 of the combined picture / text warnings established in Decision No. 7.
