National Committee for Tobacco Control v. Japan Tobacco International

The National Committee for Tobacco Control (CNCT) sued Japan Tobacco International (JTI), alleging that JTI had violated a ban on tobacco advertising by placing messages on cigarette packs such as "Camel blends the finest quality tobaccos.”  The trial court and the court of appeals found that JTI illegally had advertised tobacco.  The Court of Cassation dismissed JTI’s appeal.
