Audiovisual Society v. France 2 (Telematin)

The Audiovisual Society, an administrative agency which monitors media compliance with broadcasting and other laws, issued a written warning to channel France 2 (Telematin) for broadcasting a television segment with an individual who was smoking. The Audiovisual Society held that the depiction of the smoker constituted unlawful promotion of tobacco in violation of the Public Health Code.
