Sales Restrictions
Violations of the ban on vending machines sales are punishable by imprisonment for a minimum of one year and/or by a fine between AED 100,000 and AED 1,000,000. Subsequent violations are punishable by imprisonment for a minimum of two years and by a fine of at least AED 1,000,000.
Violations of the ban on internet sales are punishable by an immediate fine of AED 500 to be paid against reconciliation; without reconciliation, the matter will be referred to criminal trial where violations are punished by fines between AED 3,000 and AED 10,000.
Location-based Sales Restrictions
Violations of location-based sales restrictions are punishable by an immediate fine of AED 500 to be paid against reconciliation; without reconciliation, the matter will be referred to criminal trial where violations are punished by fines between AED 3,000 and AED 10,000.
Minimum Retail Package Size
The law does not regulate the minimum size of tobacco product packages; therefore, there are no associated penalties.
Minimum Legal Sales Age
