COMMENTS: NIS 463:2014 regulated tobacco product packaging and labeling. These regulations addressed cigarettes only and no other tobacco products. This standard was replaced by the 2018 edition.

COMMENTS: National Tobacco Control Act, 2015 regulates all aspects of tobacco control including smoke free places, tobacco advertising and promotion, tobacco packaging and labeling, protection against tobacco industry interference, and product disclosure, among other areas.

COMMENTS: NIS 463:2018 regulates cigarettes contents, required disclosures, and packaging and labeling. This standard replaced the 2014 edition. 

COMMENTS: NIS 1031:2018 regulates the contents, required disclosures, and packaging and labeling of smokeless tobacco products.

COMMENTS: National Tobacco Control Regulations, 2019 implements all aspects of the National Tobacco Control Act, 2015 including smoke free places, tobacco advertising and promotion, tobacco packaging and labeling, protection against tobacco industry interference, and product disclosure, among other areas.

COMMENTS: In this letter to the Inspector General of Police, the Ministry of Health communicated to enforcement authorities that tobacco manufacturers would be granted a 150-day grace period "to clear their inventory" before enforcement of the required pictorial health warnings would begin. Thus, the original date of June 23, 2021 was delayed to November 20, 2021. 

COMMENTS: The National Film and Video Censors Board Regulations, 2024 regulate tobacco advertising, promotion, and depiction in film and music videos and describe what constitutes unnecessary tobacco use depiction in film and music video productions.
