The sale of tobacco products with harmful substances exceeding the permissible levels are punishable by a fine of 170 standard units on natural persons and 650 standard units on legal entities. This provision is interpreted as applying to the sale of cigarettes containing prohibited/restricted ingredients.
The law aligns with FCTC Art. 9 and the FCTC Arts. 9 & 10 Partial Guidelines in that it imposes sanctions for content regulation violations. However, to more fully align, penalties should increase with repeat violations, and license suspension and cancellation should also be considered as penalties.

Law No. 121 of 2021 states that penalties for violations of the law are provided by the Code on Administrative Liability (now the Code on Offenses). However, the relevant penalties from the Code of Offenses are uncertain.
To align with FCTC Art. 10 and the FCTC Arts. 9 & 10 Partial Guidelines, the law should specify sanctions for disclosure violations, including increased penalties for repeat violations and sanctions such as license suspension and cancellation.
