Public Place

The definition of “public place” contained in the National Tobacco Control Act does not align with the definition of “public place” provided in the FCTC Art. 8 Guidelines. The definition in the Act lists certain places rather than describing what constitutes a public place. Due to this, some public places may escape bans or restrictions. To align with FCTC Art. 8 and the FCTC Art. 8 Guidelines, the law should contain a definition of “public place” in accordance with the definition of “public place” provided in the FCTC Art. 8 Guidelines.
