COMMENTS: The Tobacco Control Decree 2010 contains provisions covering smoke free places; advertising, promotion and sponsorship; and packaging and labeling. The Decree has been amended three times – by the Tobacco Control (Amendment) Decree 2012, the Tobacco Control (Amendment) Decree 2014, and the Revised Edition of the Laws (Consequential Amendments) 2016 (amending penalties)

COMMENTS: The Tobacco Control (Amendment) Decree substitutes references to the “Minister” with references to the “Permanent Secretary” in a number of articles listed in the 2010 Decree.

COMMENTS: The Tobacco Control Regulations 2012 contain detailed information on tobacco product packaging and labeling and product display, as well as enforcement provisions for both the Tobacco Control Decree 2010.

COMMENTS: The Tobacco Control (Amendment) Decree 2014 amends the Tobacco Control Decree 2010 by including a definition of “e-cigarette” and by including the word “e-cigarette” in various articles of the 2010 Decree.

COMMENTS: Section 213 of the Revised Edition of the Laws (Consequential Amendments) 2016 amends the penalty provisions contained in the Tobacco Control Decree 2010.
