Analysis

The National Technical Regulation for Tobacco requires manufacturers and importers of cigarettes to disclose the "tobacco additives" used in cigarette production.

The law aligns with FCTC Art. 10 and the FCTC Arts. 9 & 10 Partial Guidelines in that it requires disclosure by manufacturers and importers to government authorities of information on the contents and/or ingredients used in the manufacture of their cigarettes.

Analysis

Although the National Technical Regulation for Tobacco (NTR) does not require disclosure of exact yields of emissions, the NTR requires manufacturers and importers of cigarettes to declare that their products are in conformity with the Regulation, which includes maximum content of tar and nicotine requirements.

The law aligns with FCTC Art. 10 and the FCTC Arts. 9 & 10 Partial Guidelines in that it requires disclosure by manufacturers and importers to government authorities of information on the emissions of their cigarettes.
