COMMENTS: Regulations No. 790 of 2011 on Picture and Text Warnings on Tobacco and Measurements of the Maximum Harmful Tobacco Substances were issued under the Tobacco Control Act of 2002, and implement provisions on health warnings on tobacco products and measurement and yields of harmful substances. These regulations require pictorial warnings.
COMMENTS: Regulations No. 1250 of 2011 amend Article 3 of Regulations No. 790 of 2011.
COMMENTS: Regulations No. 326 of 2007 on smoking restrictions were issued under the Tobacco Control Act of 2002, and implement provisions on smoking in indoor workplaces, public transportation, and indoor public places.
COMMENTS: Regulations No. 325 of 2007 on retail sale of tobacco were issued under the Tobacco Control Act of 2002 and regulate the retail sale of tobacco, including point of sale advertising and product display.
COMMENTS: Regulations No. 236 of 2003 on warning labelling on tobacco and measurement and maximum yields of harmful substances were issued under the Tobacco Control Act of 2002, and implement provisions on health warnings on tobacco products and measurement and yields of harmful substances. These regulations were repealed by Regulations No. 790 of 2011.
COMMENTS: The Tobacco Control Act 2002, Act no. 6/2002, is the primary tobacco control law in Iceland. It governs, among other things, smoke free environments; tobacco advertising, promotion and sponsorship; and tobacco packaging and labeling. Both the Original Language version and the English translation of the law include amendments through May 2018 (Act No. 47/2018).
