Disclosure Requirements

Disclosure by manufacturers and importers of cigarettes to government authorities of information on the contents and/or ingredients used in the manufacture of their cigarettes

Not Required
Analysis

The law does not require manufacturers or importers of tobacco products to disclose to government authorities information on the contents and/or ingredients used in the manufacture of their tobacco products. The law grants authority to the Ministries of Health and Commerce to issue a joint decree implementing provisions on preventing illegal trade, which includes a provision requiring licenses for manufacturers, importers, and wholesales. Disclosure of contents and ingredients could potentially be regulated under regulations governing licensing.

To align with FCTC Art. 10 and the FCTC Arts. 9 & 10 Partial Guidelines, the law should require disclosure by manufacturers and importers to government authorities of information on the contents and/or ingredients used in the manufacture of their cigarettes.
