In spite of the fact that the law gives the Ministry of Health authority to regulate on the contents of cigarettes, those regulations have not yet been issued; therefore, there are no specified penalties.
To align with FCTC Art. 9 and the FCTC Arts. 9 & 10 Guidelines, the law should regulate the contents of cigarettes and impose sanctions for violations.

Violations of disclosure requirements are punishable by the seizure of the products and a fine of ten times the national minimum wage. In addition, the Ministry of Health is also allowed to destroy the products. In the case of imported products, the Ministry of Health can order their removal from storage and deny entry into the country.
The law aligns with FCTC Art. 10 and the FCTC Arts. 9 & 10 Partial Guidelines in that the law imposes sanctions for disclosure violations.
