Sales Restrictions
A violation of the ban on vending machines or internet sales may be subject to license suspension or cancellation and/or a fine of up to 1000 yuan.
Location-based Sales Restrictions
Under the Tobacco Monopoly Licensing Management Regulations, a violation of the prohibition on tobacco sales near primary and secondary schools may be subject to license suspension or cancellation and/or a fine of up to 1000 yuan.
Under the Law on the Protection of Minors, a violation is subject to a warning, confiscation of illegal gains, and possibly a fine of up to 50,000 yuan. Repeat or aggravated offenses are subject to license suspension, cancellation, and possibly a fine between 50,000 and 500,000 yuan.
Minimum Retail Package Size
The law does not regulate the minimum size of tobacco product packages; therefore, there are no associated penalties.
