Minimum Retail Package Size
Violations of the minimum retail package size are punishable by a formal warning and a fine equivalent to the value to the end consumer of between 50 and 1,000 special accounting units related to housing known as “Unidades de Fomento a la Vivienda” (UFV). In the case of a repeat offense, the fine shall increase to 3,000 units of UFV.
Minimum Legal Sales Age
The sale of tobacco products to a minor is a very serious infraction, penalized by a monetary fine of UFV1,000. Recidivism of very serious infractions increases the fine by 100%.
