Analysis

Any person who violates the prohibition on tobacco advertising, promotion or sponsorship may be punished with simple imprisonment up to three months, or a fine up to one hundred thousand taka, or both. Repeat offenses are subject to doubling of the penalty.

The law aligns with FCTC Art. 13 and the FCTC Art. 13 Guidelines in that it provides for higher penalties for repeat offenses.
