Tobacco Control Act of Bhutan, 2010 (as amended)

COMMENTS: The Tobacco Control Act of Bhutan 2010 is the primary piece of tobacco control legislation. The law establishes smoke free places; prohibits the cultivation, manufacture, sale, and distribution of tobacco products; and restricts the import of tobacco products for personal consumption only. Among other things, the law also regulates tobacco advertising, promotion and sponsorship.

The law has been amended several times, most recently in 2021. A consolidated version incorporating these amendments is uploaded here, and an updated legislative analysis is forthcoming.

To the best of our knowledge, all laws provided here are in effect as of June 17, 2024 unless otherwise noted.
