Smokefree Environments and Regulated Products Act 1990 (Public Act 1990 No. 108) (as amended)

COMMENTS: The Smokefree Environments and Regulated Products Act 1990 is the primary tobacco control law in New Zealand regulating e-cigarettes and tobacco products, including heated tobacco products. It includes measures regulating smoke free places; advertising, promotion and sponsorship; and product packaging and labeling. The legislation has been amended several times. The version of the legislation posted here is current through January 1, 2023.

The name of the Act as originally passed was the Smokefree Environments Act. The name was changed by the Smoke-free Environments and Regulated Products (Vaping) Amendment Act 2020 (Public Act 2020 No. 62).
