Government Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia No. 19 of 2003 Concerning Safety Measures for Smoking and Health

01 Apr, 2004

COMMENTS: Government Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia No. 19 of 2003 Concerning Safety Measures for Smoking and Health was issued pursuant to Law No. 23 of 1992 Concerning Health and Law No. 32 of 2002 Concerning Broadcasting. It significantly amends Government Regulation No. 81 of 1999 and Government Regulation No. 38 of 2000, which were also issued under Law No. 23 of 1992 Concerning Health. The Regulation governs many aspects of tobacco control, including, but not limited to: packaging and labeling; advertising, promotion and sponsorship; restrictions on public smoking; and production and sale of smoked tobacco products. Government Regulation No. 19 of 2003 was replaced by Government Regulation No. 109 of 2012. However, Government Regulation No. 19 of 2003 remains in effect as long as it does not conflict with Government Regulation No. 109 of 2012.

To the best of our knowledge, all laws provided here are in effect as of December 7, 2024 unless otherwise noted.
