COMMENTS: The Food Safety and Standards (Prohibition and Restrictions on Sales)
Regulations, 2011 prohibit, among other things, tobacco and nicotine from being used in any food products. Courts in several states have relied on this provision to impose bans on the manufacture, distribution, and sale of "gutka" or "pan masala."
