Directive on Printing Warning Messages and Pictures on Tobacco Product Boxes, Packets, Cartons, Parcels and Packaging Materials, 2014
COMMENTS: The Directive on Printing Warning Messages and Pictures on Tobacco Product Boxes, Packets, Cartons, Parcels and Packaging Materials, 2014 increases the size of mandatory health warnings to ninety percent of the front and back of all tobacco product packaging. The directive also institutes new text warnings and pictures. The directive took effect on May 15, 2015, but actual implementation was delayed due to the April 2015 earthquake.
This directive has been repealed by the Directive for Printing and Labelling of Warning Messages and Pictures on the Boxes, Packets, Wrappers, Cartons, Parcels and Packaging of Tobacco Product, 2025, which enters into force on August 17, 2025.
